In conjunction with the Azle High School Thespians’ second annual “Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat” food roundup Thursday, the AHS Improv Troupe will perform for audiences bearing canned goods this Saturday.
For the second straight year, the actors are joining thousands across the country Thursday, Oct. 29 in the International Thespian Society food drive to feed hungry people living in their own communities.
The students, dressed in costume and orange and black “Trick or Treat So Kids Can Eat” buttons, will be knocking on doors between 5 and 8 p.m., collecting the food for the Community Caring Center at 317 Commerce Street. Last year they collected 790 pounds of food, and this year they will be doubling their efforts with their performance on Saturday. The show will start at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 on the Community Center Stage at 404 West Main. The price of entry is a can of food.
