Azle High School’s Math and Science team took the top award in three team competitions, along witih the first-place Sweepstakes award at last Saturday’s annual Coronado High School UIL math and science tournament in Lubbock.
Team members also 32 individual awards.
For the seniors Ben Heasely won took fourth in calculator and tenth in science. Weston Fountain finished first in calculator, first in science, first in chemistry and sixth in the general mathematics contest. Ammon Lutz placed fifth in calculator and fifth in his division of science. Colton Rouse took first in number sense and seventh in mathematics. And Nik Luetkemeyer took second in number sense, fifth in mathematics and eighth in science. For the juniors John Nguyen finished fifth in calculator and seventh in number sense. Brandon LaMaster placed first in number sense and eighth in calculator. Kevin Trinh took fifth place in science. Daniel Ehlmann took fifth in number sense, eighth in science and ninth in mathematics. And Reed Marchman placed first in science, first in biology, third in calculator and sixth in mathematics. Sophomore Shawn Morgan took first in calculator, third in mathematics fourth in mathematics and sixth in science. And freshman, Vincent Trinh took second in science, fourth in number sense and tenth in mathematics. |
