The boys basketball game against Kennedale was moved back a day because the Wildcat football team is in the playoffs. So the clash was bumped to Saturday, Nov. 21. Azle (2-0) steadily built a lead and eventually won, 63-55.
Three Hornets reached double digits: Joe Richards and Kellen Myers 17 points and Jimmy Walter 11.
Jake Zuilhof and Drew Charles added seven points each while Dillon Bagwell and Nathaniel Shaffer scored a pair apiece. After a close opening period – AHS led 14-13 – the Hornets out-scored the hosts 37-25 over the next two periods, including a 23-15 third quarter advantage. After hosting All Saints Episcopal Nov. 24 – the results of which will be included in next week’s News – the Hornets got a week off.
Azle travels to Nolan Catholic Dec. 1 before playing in a Brewer tourney. |
